Our Rewards

Make Your Day is about self-management and citizen.  Philosophically, extrinsic rewards (rewards given by others) are not a part of Make Your Day.  The intent is to develop an internal locus of control within our students.  Students who are motivated extrinsically are behaving appropriately in order to receive some “carrot”, such as popcorn at lunch or to avoid a detention.  Our intention is that our students are intrinsically motivated to behave appropriately.  In other words, the student will do what is expected because they recognize that doing so is the “right thing to do.”
