Unit 01: Scientific Processes

Unit 1 is an introduction to the scientific skills and processes that students will use throughout the remainder of 7th and 8th grade science, high school, college and life.  The table that follows includes a summary of each day's lesson, with links to presentations, notes and handout used for each day.  Lessons and handouts for future dates are subject to change.  In general, links for notes and PowerPoint presentations will not be activated until the end of the school day.  Links for the test review worksheet answers and unit summary are not activated until the afternoon before the test. (Be sure to refresh the page to get the latest links and updates.) Unless otherwise noted, regular and PreAP will have the same assignments.  At the bottom of this page are  links for the TEKS (Texas Essential Knowledge & Skills) objectives for the unit, any on-line text documents, such as unit vocabulary glossary or on-line unit summary, and links to related science websites.
