Tuesday, May 13 Blalack Middle School seventh graders celebrated their Texas Heritage. Students moved through nine stations. Each station represented a different aspect of Texas heritage or history. The rotations included the following:

  • Texas Poet Laureate, Steven Fromholz with Texas singer/songwriters Bob Livingston and Donal Hinely
  • R. L. Turner's FFA
  • Native American
  • The Daughters of the Republic of Texas
  • Denton County
  • Creekview Chevals
  • Cowgirl Hall of Fame
  • Native American weaving by our own Ms. Chandler
  • Abilene Frontier Texas
  • Ft. Worth Police
  • TravelTexas.com  internet research

 The day also included a BBQ lunch.

Students ended the day with a concert by Steven Fromholz, Bob Livingston, and Donal Hinely.

 We would like to thank our presenters as well as all of the parent volunteers that made our second  Blalack Texas Heritage Day a success.

A very special thanks goes out once again to the fabulous Ms. Beach for pulling all this together!
