On March 5, 2007
the Texas Coalition for Quality Arts Education (TCQAE) hosted its fifth Arts Education Day at the Capitol. The day was a celebration of the importance of the arts and arts education featuring performances by outstanding arts (music, art, theatre and dance) students from throughout the state.

Blalack had the honor of having two of its performing groups, our Women's Select Choir and our Symphonic Orchestra, participate.

Both groups had the opportunity to pose for photographs with State Representative Burt Solomons and Carrollton Mayor Becky Miller on the South steps of our Capitol.

Students toured the Bob Bullock Museum as well as taking a self-guided tour of the Capitol grounds and awesome guided tours of the Capitol building.

Be sure to check out Cow Hear This for an audio podcast of all songs performed by both groups and an enhanced podcast featuring trip photos and a song from each of our very talented groups.

For more information about this special day check out the TCQAE's webpage.

Congratulations to our dedicated directors!
