"AL" is C-FB’s New Technology For The Community

Carrollton-Farmers Branch Independent School District has a new online resource for software training. AL, which stands for Atomic Learning, is available to staff, students and their families 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  AL can be used anywhere our staff, students and their families have access to a computer whether they are at school, home or work.

AL is very easy to use.  Follow the directions below, and you can have access to step-by-step training for all types of software.  There are three ways to access Atomic Learning:

o        Staff Members  (C-FB Employees)

o        Students

o        Community      

1. Go to http://www.atomiclearning.com
2. Enter the following user name and password:  (THey aRe cAse SeNsITivE)

3. At the top of the window click   for Windows or   for MAC.
4. Next select the application you would like to learn.
5. Or, you can type your question in the search box on the right and then click Search
6. An answer will be provided in the form of a short, narrated movie. The movie will walk you and your child through all the steps needed to complete the task.

C-FB ISD’s subscription to AL (Atomic Learning) includes:

• Access for staff, students and their families 24 hours a day, seven days a week
• Closed captioning on many tutorials
• Spanish language tutorials. Click on Español in the upper right-hand corner.
• AL’s Weekly Tech Tips. To subscribe, click on What’s New.

C-FB ISD wants our students, families and staff to have the highest quality technology resources available. The technology that is available in our classroom is impacting student achievement, but we know that learning does not end when the school bell rings.  That’s why C-FB ISD is making AL (Atomic Learning) available to our students, families and staff. After Spring Break, the district will be sending letters home in English and Spanish to our students and families with these directions. In addition, these directions will be posted on www.cfbisd.edu and www.cfbportal.org. We hope that AL will help you and your student(s) with school work, as well as learn more about technology.
