9th GradeMuseum of Nature & Science, Geocaching/GPS, Comanche Spring Astronomy Campus, College Visit--University of North Texas, Six Flags Physics Day

10th Grade—Trinity River Authority & King Tutt; Intechra; Nasa, Kemah, Turtle Rescue, Sand Dune Study, Great Storm; College Visit--University of Texas at Arlington; Bass Hall & Fort Worth Zoo

11th Grade--KISS Institute for Practical Robotics, Colleges of Engineering and Aerospace at University of Oklahoma in Norman, Kelly Air Force Base and Toyota Pickup Manufacturing plant in San Antonio

12th Grade--Historic and Modern Skyscrapers in Chicago

Few of the competitions that hold promises for METSA are:

Botball & FIRST in 9th & 10th grade--This is a hands-on learning experience in robotics designed to engage students in learning the practical applications of science, technology, engineering and math.


   
FastTrack in 9th & 10th grade --FastTrack Challenges use 1:16 scale RC cars, the excitement of driving
    and racing to infuse grade- appropriate rigor and relevance into integrated science and math  studies.

    Construction Challenge in  9th & 10th grade--Teenagers compete and solve infrastructure, manufacturing
    design, and service tech challenges using teamwork and creative problem solving. The top 50 teams
    advance to the Championships held at the University of Tennessee on May 19-23, where student teams can
    literally pave a pathway to their higher education (and a future career) with scholarship and internship
   opportunities

RoboCup in 11th grade –The team develops a team of humanoid soccer players that compete against other teams using mechanical, electrical, and computer programming skills.

Team America Rocketery Challenge in 11th grade--the largest model rocket showcase on the planet!

National Science Decathlon in all grades--is made up of ten Team Events and up to four Pilot Events which sport names like Bridge Breaking, Water Rocketry and Ick! Thyology for each division. ediate elementary students. 

 

The Science Olympiad in all grades--is a rigorous academic interscholastic competitions that consist of a series of individual and team events, which students prepare for during the year. These challenging and motivational events are well balanced between the various science disciplines of biology, earth science, chemistry, physics, computers and technology.

The Marine Advanced Technology Education (MATE) in 12th grade-- national and regional remotely operated vehicle (ROV or underwater robot) competitions.

West Point Bridge Design Contest in 11th grade--an Internet-based competition to provide students with a realistic, engaging introduction to engineering. Students may compete individually or in teams to two.
