I was
born and raised in Chugiak, Alaska. I have to say, it was nice living
in the biggest state in the U.S., and I love to visit whenever
possible. I attended college at the University of Oklahoma (Boomer
Sooner), where I received my bachelor’s degree in Science Education. I
met my husband at college and we married in December of 2006. After
graduating college, I moved to Richardson, where I taught for two
years. My husband and I bought a house in Carrollton in 2008, and I
was able to get a job at Turner. I’ve been given the opportunity to
teach at METSA and am excited about the school year.

I'm not from
'round these parts. I grew up in Oklahoma and am a proud Sooner. After
college I served in the Peace Corps for a year and a half. I was
posted in Togo, West Africa. If you don't know where that is, don't
worry. It's usually stuck in the crease in the Atlas between the two
Africa pages. After that adventure I moved to Dallas to take up
teaching. This is my
third year at R. L. Turner and my second at METSA. I teach Pre=AP
World History as well as AP U.S. History starting this year. I love to
read, write and backpack outdoors. I love to teach and enjoy watching
kids mastering content and excel in the classroom. I also am getting
married in the Spring to my lovely fiancé, Beth. I am a HUGE fan of
the hit ABC show Lost which makes me unavailable after school on
Thursdays.

I was born and raised in a small town in South Texas. At the age of
eighteen, I decided I needed to do something meaningful in my life, so
I bought a Greyhound ticket to Dallas and never looked back. I moved
in with a buddy of mine and worked long hours at a prestigious hotel
just to make a living.
At the age of 20, I moved again to live with my brother in Casper,
Wyoming. I know; what was I doing in Wyoming? I began college and
graduated in the 2004 with a BS in Biology and an Associate
degree in Pre-Medicine. While in college, I worked as a courier with
FedEx. I did this for 7 years. I married a beautiful woman who I had
met in Dallas at the age of 19, and now we have a gorgeous baby boy
named Jose. They mean the world to me. I began teaching in 2007 and am
now in my third year. I honestly enjoy working with my students. They
are so CRAZY!!! I Love It!!!
I have also loved working at METSA, all of our great students and
"special " staff members have made this a unique and wonderful place
to work. |

I was born in
Wisconsin and yes, I love cheese! Growing up we moved about every 5
years. For 5 of those years I lived in Toronto, Canada. This is
where I started school. Each student is required to take French and
every morning we would assemble in the gym and sing the national
anthem in English and in French.
I have been in Texas
since I was 12. I graduated from Grapevine High School in 1997. I
then went to the University of North Texas, worked a few different
jobs, then went back to the University to receive my teaching
certificate. Geography is a passion that I hope to share with all
of my students. I am excited for another wonderful year at R. L.
Turner!

I grew up in Plano, TX
(I went to Jasper High School). Instead of attending Plano West during
my junior and senior years of high school, I went to college in the
Texas Academy of Mathematics and Science (TAMS) program located at the
University of North Texas.
I graduated high school
in 2002 and entered Louisiana State University as a junior. I graduated
from LSU with a Bachelor of Science in Secondary Education emphasis in
English. I then attended the University of California at Los Angeles
where I received my Master of Education with an emphasis in mathematics.
As part of master's
program at UCLA, I taught at Hawthorne High School in Hawthorne, CA (Los
Angeles) for one year. I had incredibly great students, and they chose
me as the 2006~2007 Teacher of the Year as well as one of the top six
Most Inspirational Teachers. Last year I taught geometry on the main
campus at R. L. Turner, and currently I am teaching METSA Algebra I & II. |

I was born in
Tehran, Iran and migrated to United States in 1974 to attend college.
By 1979, I had earned my Bachelor's degree in Business Administration
and my master's degree in Computer Science from University of North
Texas.
After college, I worked
in the Information Technology industry for 15 years (Texas
Instruments, Apple Computers and American Airlines).
After getting my
teaching certificate, I began teaching at Newman Smith High School in
1994. I have taught many Business and Technology courses and
coordinated the Internship Program at Creekview High School.
During my tenure, I have introduced many dual-credit and innovative
courses to the district. I love teaching and working with teens
in our community. This fall, I began my Masters of
Administration in Education at UNT and started my new role at R. L.
Turner.
I have been married to
my husband of 28 years. We have two sons and two beautiful
grand-daughters.

I was born a navy brat
in Chincoteague, Virginia, and at 6 weeks old was transported to
Western New York where I grew up on a very primitive farm. I finally
got my lifelong dream of moving to Texas in 1985.
I entered college in
1988 at Texarkana Community College and in 1991 graduated with an
Associates Degree. I transferred to East Texas State University (now
Texas A & M at Texarkana) and graduated in 1993. I then began my
teaching career at a small 1A school in Simms, Texas where I taught
for 9 years (mostly Juniors and Seniors).
Divorce led me to
Arlington, Texas and Lamar High School where I taught for 5 years.
After remarrying, my husband and I bought a house in Farmers Branch
where I then moved my teaching career to R L Turner last year. I was
then honored with an offer to teach Humanities at METSA this year.
I have been
married to my current husband for 6 years and have 2 children, John
and Jennifer, from a previous marriage and two grandchildren,
Shelby and Grace
