We have a selection of chunks and rimes throughout the year we use to choose the kinds of spelling words for our list. The children help to compose the main list from words that they know follow the chunk/rime we are studying. The teacher helps by giving a few more challenging words for each chunk/rime. |

Our classes are geared toward cardiovascular development and lifelong fitness. It is our hope that our students love PE so much that they will participate in daily physical activity for the rest of their lives. We stretch and do exercises everyday. The students lead our warm up time. There are 11 different components that make up physical fitness. Five of the components are Health Related and six of the components are Skill Related. We work on all the components at Las Colinas. We introduce students to all the components of physical fitness and as many different activities as we can squeeze into the year. With lots of variety, each student should find some favorite activities. Enjoyment is the key. To continue physical activity through a lifetime, it must be enjoyable and activities must be interchangeable. Sports skill practice, dance, personal development, health, physical challenges, games and high expectations make our classes fun and our bodies fit.
