Here are the expectations for all members of the
team:
1. Students must be passing all subjects and must maintain a GPA of at LEAST a 70%. All work must be turned in before practice. If work is missing, they will have to miss practice until it is completed and turned in or until grades are raised above 70%.
2. Students may not miss more than 3 practices. It will be too difficult to learn the routine and be ready for performances if practices are missed.
3. Students must have a positive attitude towards themselves and others. They must also be willing to work as a team. I will have Team Captains from fourth grade that will be helping to guide them and be role models to them.
4. If a student chooses a Step 4, they forfeit their position on the team and an alternate will take their position. This is non-negotiable and will not be changed for ANY student. This is a leadership team that serves as an example to others. I want them to know that one person’s actions can affect the entire team and not just them. I take this very seriously.
5. Students will have a Step Team shirt that they need to purchase. This will be the only cost of this team. They must be worn during performances along with jeans. The shirt will have their name on the back and "Step Team" along with a picture on the front. The normal cost for these shirts is around $16.00 per student. We will order the shirts in November to give you a chance to save up for it.
We will be performing for the entire school, for PTA nights and many other events to come. We look forward to a new year with an amazing team! It will be worth all of the hard work. Also, please start saving for the Step Team shirt.
