Activities To Do With Your Child At Home

To ensure greater success in Kindergarten for your child this year,

get in the habit of doing the following at home:

§         Practice writing name and other words using upper and lower case letters.

§         Practice correct letter formations.

§         Practice recognizing upper and lower case letters.

§         Practice letter sounds.

§         Review colors and shapes.

§         Practice counting from 0 to 100.

§         Practice counting objects.

§         Practice sorting items by color, size, shape, and other attributes.

§         Read, read, read.  Read to and with your child every night.

§         Identify letters in books and magazines.

§         Let your child read simple books.

§         Practice making patterns, finding patterns, and extending patterns.

§         Practice writing and identifying numbers 0 -20.
