E.A.G.L.E.S. is an acronym for Everything A Great Learner Expects (for) Success

A very important daily communications and learning folder called the EAGLES Folder will be used each day by Miss Seall's students and parents. This 3-pronged folder (red for girls and blue for boys) houses EVERYTHING students and parents need to keep up-to-date with what is going on at school. Gone are the days of wrinkled papers and lost notes, newsletters, or calendars. Everything you need is in one folder! EAGLES folders are important! They help students to establish good organizational skills - - - - - - - skills that can carry on throughout their time in school. EAGLES folders will be sent home every night. Please return them every school day.

*Money* *and* *Notes Pouch*		This pouch will house notes “for the teacher” and notes “for parents” - - it is also an ideal place to put money for book orders, lunch, milk, and field trips.
*2-Pocket Folder*		Newsletters, school notes, field trip permission slips, homework, and monthly calendars, will be placed the 2-pocket folder. The hands located on the folder’s pockets indicate if the paperwork is to be filled out and brought “RIGHT Back To School” or if it needs to be “LEFT At Home.”
*Guided Reading Books and Homework* *Pouch*		On Wednesdays, your child will take a book home to read. Other homework will also be sent home from time to time. Guided Reading books should be returned the very next school day. Books that are lost or not returned will result in a $5.00 (per book) fee.
*Class List and Staff Contacts Label*		Ways to contact me and other staff members will be shared on the contacts label. A label with a list of the names of our class members is also in the folder. If necessary, it will be updated during the course of the school year.
*Book It Page*		From October through March, your child will be given the opportunity to participate in the Pizza Hut Book It reading incentive program. The monthly goal and record keeping sheet will be kept in a plastic sheet protector, in the EAGLES folder.
*Daily Schedule page*		Our daily schedule will be included in the EAGLES folder for you to reference when needed. Our Activities, Lunch, and Recess times are indicated on the schedule.
*ABC Chart* *and* *Star Words*		An ABC chart will be included to assist your child in learning alphabet letters and sounds. Your child will also learn many high frequency words in Kindergarten. We call these words “Star Words.” We want the students to learn to recognize these words by sight. Cards will be added as we learn them. FAt-home practice is highly beneficial (and recommended).
*Behavior Chart*		A Behavior Chart will be place in the folder every nine weeks. This is to keep you informed of your child’s behavior at school on a daily basis. Please check the chart daily and sign where indicated. The behavior chart is to remain in the folder.
