SAFETY and CLASS GUIDELINES

SAFETY GUIDELINES

1. Absolutely no horseplay.

2. Always walk - do not run.

3. Students will not operate any machine until the instructor has given proper operating and safety instructions.

4. Machines can only be operated when the instructor is present.

5. Only the operator should "turn on" a power machine in the R&D Lab.

6. Always pay strict attention to what you are doing; do not allow yourself to be distracted.

7. Never interrupt a machine / equipment operator. Do not distract someone from their work.

8. Report any machine, equipment, or computer that seems to work improperly to your instructor.

9. Do not operate R&D machines when feeling sick or tired.

10. Report all injuries to your instructor immediately.

11. Caution anyone you see violating a safety or class guideline.

12. Keep the class and lab floors free of all kinds of trash.

13. Respect the rights of other class members.

14. Practice safety at all times.

15. Consult your instructor for additional class and lab safety guidelines.

CLASS GUIDELINES

1. Follow directions.

2. Show respect when someone is talking, be quiet and listen.

3. When in groups, stay in your group’s work area. Get permission from the instructor before you leave your group area or work station.

4. Raise your hand, or use the call light at your work station, to ask the instructor a question.

5. Do not talk or yell across the room.

6. Keep your feet off the furniture and equipment.

7. Clean up at your workstation and put everything away properly, then get permission to leave the group area at the end of class.

8. All class and safety guidelines stated will be followed.
