| Transportation | Metric 500 |
PURPOSE: To visually and physically demonstrate knowledge of basic design and assembly by designing and making a vehicle powered by a carbon dioxide (CO2) cartridge.
INTRODUCTION: The Metric 500 unit will have hands on activities as well as written work. Test scores will account for 60% and daily work will account for the other 40% of the Nine weeks grade.
TASKS INCLUDED IN THIS L.A.P. :
1. Demonstrate knowledge of terms and definitions related to transportation.
2. Define different types of suspension systems.
3. Demonstrate understanding of the affects of drag, thrust, gravity, and lift on a vehicle.
4. Design a vehicle that will use the affects of drag, thrust, gravity, and lift to its advantage.
5. Make a vehicle that will use the affects of drag, thrust, gravity, and lift to its advantage.
