4. Cut a piece of paper that is about 1" x 3". Smear glue on one side of this paper. Place one end of the shock cord lengthwise in the middle of the paper. Fold the paper in thirds over the shock cord (This means that the cord will be folded up inside the paper).

Apply glue to one surface of this paper, and attach to the inside top of the body tube. Make sure the paper is far enough in so that it will not interfere with the fit of
the nose cone.![]() |
| Loop the other end of the shock cord through an eye screw, and tie it in place.

5. Cut 3 strings to a length of 2 feet each. Loop the string over and back under the tape, so that the string goes under the sticky side of the tape twice. Attach the tape to
the edge of the parachute material so that the string comes out from under the tape at the edge of the parachute.![]() |
