bulletClinic and Concerts:  RL Turner Auditorium, 1600 S. Josey, Carrollton, beginning at 5:00 PM.

Your attendance at all of the rehearsals and at the concert is required.

Schedule

bullet8:00am - ARRIVE at RL Turner and locate your rehearsal room.
bulletFind your chair in the band set-up in the rehearsal area.
bulletYour name will be attached to a music stand to indicate your seat.
bullet Please place cases in the designated area.
bulletBring extra reeds, oil, grease, REHEARSAL PENCIL, etc.
bulletWait until the clinician asks you to play when you arrive.
bulletPlease leave chairs and stands in their original placement in your rehearsal area.
bulletPlease make sure you have practiced the music in this folder before coming to the clinic.   Your prior preparation will much improve the entire band’s performance allowing the clinician to work on higher level concepts with the entire band.
bullet8:30am – DOWNBEAT OF MORNING REHEARSAL.  Please be prepared to begin on time.  This will maximize the rehearsal time as we prepare for the evening concert.
bullet11:30am – BREAK FOR LUNCH.  Your band directors or parents are responsible for transportation and all lunch plans.
bullet1:00pm –  DOWNBEAT OF AFTERNOON REHEARSAL.
bullet4:00pm – Rehearsal is complete.  Students in the Symphonic and Honor Bands will be directed to changing rooms to change into concert dress and will be provided a small snack to tide them over through the concert.  Students in the Wind Symphony should vacate campus as soon as possible so staff can prepare for the evening performances.  Take all of your belongings with you. 
bullet Parents and friends should park on the southeast side of the school and enter the main entrance between the gyms and Fine Arts Complex. 
bulletCONCERT in the RL. Turner Auditorium, 1600 S. Josey Lane, Carrollton.  (South of Beltline Road on the west side of Josey)


 

 

bullet Concert Order / Warm-up and Performance Schedule
bullet Symphonic Band – warm-up on stage at 4:30; perform at 5:00 p.m.
bulletHonor Band – warm-up in choir room at 5:15; perform at 5:45 p.m.
bulletWind Symphony – warm-up in band hall at 6:00; perform at 6:30 p.m.

Concert Procedure

bulletYour clinician host will remind you of your warm-up place, time, and case storage at Turner High School.
bulletYour All-Region Medal will be presented to you at warm-up so that you may wear it during the performance in celebration of all that you have accomplished as an All-Region Band member.
bulletFile onto the stage when it is your turn to perform.
bulletAfter your performance, you will file off the stage.  You are free to depart campus or go to the seating area and watch the remaining bands perform.  Please remember that other groups will begin performing.  Proper concert etiquette and respect are a MUST!

 

General Information

 

bulletConcert Dress will be dark concert attire - black is preferable.  Dress up!  This is not a casual occasion.  Please wear clothing that is suitable for playing your instrument.  Band uniforms or concert uniforms are recommended if your band has concert uniforms (tuxedo/ black dresses, black dress shoes, etc).  Please use your best judgment to look professional!  Your director will advise you.
bulletChanging Clothes – Students in the Symphonic and Honor Bands should bring concert clothes to the rehearsal, changing rooms will be provided.  Students in the Wind Symphony will need to return to Turner in concert dress.
bulletProfessional Digital Recordings will be available for you to purchase ($20 for a compact disc).
bulletMusic - At the conclusion of the concert you may keep your music and your folder as a souvenir of your participation in the All-Region band.
bulletAbsence at the concert or from any part of the rehearsals forfeits your right to an All-Region medal and the distinction of being an All-Region band member.
