Chemistry Information

Goals:

1.       To have a  positive, successful experience in Chemistry.

2.      To develop good critical thinking skills, help you maximize your individual aptitudes    

         and follow safe laboratory practices. 

 

Expectations:

I expect you to interact positively and be considerate of others.

I expect you to give me your very best effort everyday.  I will give you mine.

I expect you to be prepared for class (bring your materials & complete your homework).

I expect you to be on time to class each day. 

I expect ALL work turned into me be your own

I expect you to follow my directions and to obey lab safety rules at all times.

I expect you to report any breakage in the laboratory and to pay for any damage. 

I expect all work to be turned in on time. 

I expect you to be responsible for your make-up work when you are absent.

I will be considerate, fair, and positive in my interactions with you.

I will believe in you no matter what.

I will give you a zero on the paper, N or U in conduct, and call your parents if I catch you cheating. 

 

Supplies: 2” three-ring binder (to be used only for chemistry); One composition book; highlighters; Blue or Black pen ; Scientific Calculator- Warning, you will need this calculator by Monday of next week so do not wait.

 

Grading:

Major Exam/Project/Formal Lab             60%     (3 each 9 weeks) If you miss a test or Project, you must make it up as soon as possible, make  special arrangements with me.

Daily Grades, Quizzes, and Labs              30%     (many of these) You have 1 late day to get daily assignments and labs turned in for a 75.  After this time, all late work will make no higher than a 50.  If you have missed a lab, you must make arrangements to make it up as soon as possible, waiting too long will cause you to be unable to make it up.
