How can I help my journalism student?

    There are many ways you, as a parent, can help. First and foremost, encourage your student to read the newspaper and magazines, and to watch the news daily. We learn so much from reading the work of other journalists, and one never knows when a great story is just sitting there, waiting to be written. News story ideas can be triggered just from watching the news and knowing what is going on in the world around us. In addition, please help your students get to and from events. Most events take place at school, however may end late in the evening. We want to make sure our students are getting home safe! Also, we will need advertisers and sponsors for our newspaper. If you know of anyone willing to purchase advertising space or sponsor our newspaper, please contact me. If you have contact with any news professionals that may be willing to speak with or help out in the classroom, please let me know as well.
