Safety Patrol Information

Dear Safety Patrol Members,

 

Thank You for choosing to serve your classmates and your school by becoming a member of the

Rosemeade Safety Patrol. It is an important job and we know that your dedication to your school

through this program will help make a safe environment for students as they travel to and from school each day. 

We appreciate your participation and look forward to working with you this year.

Rules - Schedules - Guidelines

Duty Schedule: 7:40 am to 8:05 am - and- 3:05 pm to 3:25 pm.

Absence:  If you need to be absent, it is your responsibility to find an alternate.        

            Any member of Safety Patrol may be your alternate, as long as they are

            not already working at that time.            

Reporting: You must sign-in next to your name.  If you were called to substitute for

             someone, then sign your name in his or her space.  If you decide to help

             out when someone is missing, do NOT sign-in.

Termination: 2-3 “no shows” and you will be asked to leave Safety Patrol.

              If you use 4 or more substitutes a week you will be asked to leave Safety Patrol.

              If you do not pay attention and “play” while on duty, you will be asked leave the Safety Patrol,

              because this behavior can cause accidents. 

Outside Duty Rules AM and PM:

1.    Stand back from the curb. Once a car has stopped, you may open the door to help out a student.

    Remember we want cars to pull up as far as possible before stopping.

2.  Wait until a group of kids has gathered before entering the crosswalk with your stop sign. 

    Otherwise you will hold up traffic.

3.  Before entering the crosswalk, check to make sure no cars are coming. 

    Look at the driver to make sure he/she sees you.  DO NOT jump into the crosswalk without looking!!!!!!
