I am so proud to be a teacher at Las Colinas Elementary.  I am now beginning my 13th year here.  Before coming to Las Colinas I had the privilege to teach at Country Place Elementary, another school is the Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD.   I was there for 10 wonderful years but decided it was time for a change and that is how I ended up at LCE.   I also taught 5th and 6th grade in Oklahoma at Arrowhead Elementary for 13 years in a district just outside of Tulsa called Broken Arrow.

I moved to Texas in 1984 leaving my family and friends behind.  It was just a time in my life to make a move and start a new life in a new place.  The Dallas area was just a great place to live.  They had professional sports teams and so many museums and theaters.   This was something the Tulsa area just didn't have to offer at the time.

I grew up in a small town in Oklahoma with three brothers and sisters.  I had the life just like Opie Taylor did in The Andy Griffith Show.  My father was the Chief of Police and then the Sheriff of Cherokee County.  The largest city was Tahlequah.  This was the town where I grew up and graduated from high school and college.  Northeastern Oklahoma State University was in our small town and catered to students interested in going into education, and that was just what I had always wanted to do since 6th grade.

My hobbies include traveling, live theater, and college football.  I also have a small schnauzer that keeps me going, she refuses to be ignored at home.  This is Maggie.
