 What do we want students to learn or be able to do? Performance Indicators

Students will continually focus on the 4 fundamental aspects of second language learning: listening, speaking, reading, and writing.

Students will learn and utilize new vocabulary in a variety of oral and written activities.

Students will create a tree map to categorize the seasons and months of the year. Students will illustrate this map with symbols that represent each season.

Students will create a ‘months calendar’ in which they must designate each month of the year and include holidays and important events for each month.

Students will continue the composition of a short story and work with a partner through the planning, writing, and revision process.

Learning Goals:

Students will understand how to use graphic organizers to categorize like concepts.

Students will demonstrate understanding of seasonal vocabulary and how to use it effectively in their written and spoken language.

Students will understand the basic writing process. (Pre-writing, planning, revising/ editing, etc.)
