How to Become a Student Council Member

1)     Fill out a candidate application so you can start coming to meetings and activities

2)     Attend activities to earn points

3)     Earn 35 participation points, no matter how long it takes

4)     Keep up with your points calendars to show when you reach 35 points

5)     When you have earned 35 points, turn in your points sheets to the Parliamentarian

6)     Fill out the membership information form

7)     Pick up your free t-shirt!

8)     Start having fun at BLAST activities!

 

Requirements for Being a Student Council Member

1)     Return this membership information sheet within 5 days

2)     Wear your student council shirt at least once a month

3)     Attend all meetings – every other Tuesday afternoon 2:35-3:15pm

4)     Attend activities/work days to earn points

5)     Keep up with your own points calendar and

6)     Earn 20 participation points every month

7)     Turn in your points calendar at the end of every month (no later than 3 days after new month)

8)     Attend BLAST activities

9)     Represent RHS in a positive way

10)  Obtain parent permission

Probation and/or Removal

Members who fail to maintain their point values each month will be placed on probation.  If you do not earn your point values two months in a row, you will be removed from the list of members.

How do you get points?*

What it is Point Value
For every 30 minutes of service or work  1 point
For every 1 hour of service or work  2 points
Executive Meeting  2 points
Committee Meeting  2 points
General Meeting  3 points
Wearing a StuCo shirt to school  1 point
Attending a school event (you're not part of)  1 point

Keep up with your Points!  *Only StuCo officers and advisors can sign your points calendars.  They are due three days after the end of each month.  Turn them in to Tamami Motoike, Parliamentarian.
