 The SAP Program

The Student Assistance Program (SAP) is designed to facilitate success for all C-FB school district students through prevention and intervention strategies.  We help students with life situations that may affect their performance both in the classroom and daily life.

Ranchview High School hosts an SAP counselor on-site.  Tamara Johnson, M.Ed., LPC, NCC, provides various services both in and out of the classroom, acting as a valuable resource to administrators and teachers at Ranchview.  Ms. Johnson provides students and their families with violence and crisis intervention, individual and group counseling, and family counseling.  She can be reached at Ranchview at (972) 968-5030.

 Violence Intervention

Safety is a key concern in the Carrollton-Farmers Branch School District.  To keep violence in schools at bay, Ms Johnson and the SAP team provide immediate response to calls from principals, grades K – 12, to assess a threatening student.

We assess the student’s level of risk for violence, and we work with their parents, providing referrals for intervention services.  We also provide counseling when appropriate and support the family throughout the process.

 Family Counseling

C-FB ISD students and their families have access to family counseling at our CFB Counseling Center weekday evenings. Counseling for children ages four to 10 and bilingual counseling are also available.

Licensed counselors and masters level interns provide counseling sessions for a minimal fee.  For more information or to make an appointment, please call the SAP office between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m. at (972) 968-6500. You may leave a message 24 hours a day.

 If you have a concern…

The CFB Counseling Center acts as a central office for student and family questions and concerns. Our team has an intervention specialist who can help. We will help you find the appropriate referral or arrange a consultation with one of our counselors, either in person or by phone. Please call the Student Assistance Program Office at (972) 968-6500.

Ms. Johnson is available at Ranchview High School at (972) 968-5030, or you can leave a message on her voice mail.  If you have an urgent need, please contact your student’s school counselor or call the Student Assistance Program office at (972) 968-6500 where a crisis counselor can be contacted.

The Student Assistance Program is partially funded by Safe and Drug Free Schools & Communities Grant (TEA), and C-FB ISD.  The Student Assistance Program is a division of C-FB ISD Student Services.  For more information, call (972) 968-6500
