Scientific Process |
| Day 1 Review science safety rules. Students will view science equipment powerpoint to get familiar with terms and meanings. Students will be given a list of science equipment words and will write definitions in science spirals as they watch the powerpoint. CW - Definitions in science spirals, finish for homework if not completed in class. HW-definitions of science equipment due tomorrow |
| Day 2 Students will view powerpoint over the scientific method. Students will receive handout describing the scientific method. Students will match equipment flashcards for review. Students will play "Get To Know Tools" Bingo. CW- review science equipment words, discuss scientific method HW - Study for Science Equipment Quiz given September 6th. |
| Day 3 Students will review definitions in vocabulary folders for science tools. Students will take a quiz on the science equipment. CW- take science equipment quiz HW-none |
| Day 4 Students will begin the lab Falling Water and use the scientific method in a teacher led experiment. Review science safety rules. CW-write lab report together HW- none |
| Day 5 Students will finish Falling Water experiment. Students will be instructed on how to write and record their observations. The teacher will also demonstrate how to write a conclusion. CW- finish lab report HW-Falling Water Lab Report-Due on Tuesday, September 11th |
| Day 6
Students will use the CPS (Classroom Performance System) to learn about safety rules in TAKS formatted questions. Students will also learn strategies in answering TAKS questions. CW-TAKS questions Smart lesson Safety HW-study for scientific method test 09/12/07). |
