In Kindergarten it's always funny when you see a student at the store, a resturant, or some place in the community. They are surprised to see you out of the school setting. My family is a big part of my life and without sharing personal details I think it's important for them to know a little bit about me. My students know a lot about my kids as I will share things with them that may relate to what we are doing in class. They sometimes take those stories home and share with their family because every once in awhile a parent might say at a PTA meeting or school function, "I hear so much about you children". I think it's good for students to know that,like them, we have favorite colors, foods, special things we like to do, we have good days and bad days.
