Being able to give immediate feedback to students is really important because it can be a great motivator for learning. If it is positive feedback it will validate that what a student is doing is working. It is the negative feedback you must give students to help them improve such as in writing that is best done individually. Writing is such an individualized subject because every writer is different with their own voice. I have seen teachers at our school recently doing an excellent job working one on one with writers.....if a gifted student is a good writer, it is just as important to meet one on one with them too...but sometimes we focus on the ones that have a long way to go.
