Hello, my name is Laela Quinn. I am new to McWhorter Elementary and the district, but not new to teaching. I have recently moved from Austin, Texas to Carrollton, Texas due to my husband's job relocating him to the Dallas area.  I have taught 4th grade, 5th grade, K-5 Gifted classes, and as a 3rd-5th Reading Specialist, and Curriculum/Instructional Specialists. I am really happy to be teaching 4th grade language arts again since I myself enjoy reading and writing. I have my teaching degree from the University of Mary Hardin Baylor. My teaching certifications include: 1-8 Mathematics, 1-8 Elementary, PreK-12 Master Reading Teacher, 4-8 ESL, and 4-8 Generalists.

    I live in Carrollton with my husband and three cats. We have one grown son who lives and works in Dallas. I enjoy teaching, reading, playing golf, traveling, and spending time with my family and cats. My husband is retired military which has allowed us to travel and live many places to include Germany, Japan, and Korea.

    I am looking forward to getting to know the students, parents, and teachers at McWhorter Elementary.
