Teacher’s note to parents: As you use Parent Connect for up-to-date information about your son or daughter’s grades, you will notice that Spanish teachers usually enter daily grades either at the same time as a test, or at the 3-weeks point. We give students a list of daily tasks in check list form and we give students multiple opportunities to perfect the task. Students can keep trying as many times as necessary until they learn the material and master the task. Most of our tasks in Spanish I and II are oral, and some students need extra time to learn well. We believe that this kind of grading promotes student learning, and it gives students a chance to have a higher grade. In order to see how your son or daughter is doing on a daily basis, please ask your student to see the checklist. Students are to mark off each task themselves (personal responsibility) when they have mastered the task with the teacher.
