Some interesting facts about Mrs. Gauthier....

I am in my ninth year of teaching, and my sixth year as the head director of the Ted Polk Middle School Orchestra.  Before this, I was the assistant director at Newman Smith High School for two years.  After I graduated from college, my first teaching job was in South Oak Cliff, where I taught elementary school BAND to 4th, 5th, and 6th graders.  Needless to say, I decided that teaching orchestra was WAY more fun.  I really enjoy teaching orchestra because orchestra kids are the best!  I don't think I would ever teach anything else.

I was born in Buffalo, NY, grew up in Arlington, TX, and graduated from Northwestern State University in Natchitoches, Louisiana.  I participated in orchestra, choir, and marching band (I played the cymbals!) in college, and I was also on the rowing team.  I started playing the violin in the 5th grade.  I always really wanted to play the cello though, so I started playing that in college.

I have an awesome husband named Brian, an awesome daughter who will be 2 in November named Claire, and 2 dogs that can be awesome sometimes named Herbie and Miles.
