| Sectionals are held once a week, either in the afternoon or the morning. Attendance is required of all Concert, Philharmonic, Symphonic, and Chamber Orchestra members. The directors take the opportunity during sectionals to work with students on a more individual level, fixing problems specific to that section. Grades for sectionals are taken - a 100 for being there, and a ZERO for missing. If a conflict arises, the student should let the directors know ahead of time and make up the sectional on Monday morning. If this is taken care of, the student will receive a 100 for that weeks' sectional. If a student misses without letting a director know, the sectional can still be made up for that week, but they will receive a grade of 70. Needless to say, students missing sectionals without making them up will have a difficult time passing orchestra! |
