PRIVATE LESSONS |
| Private
lessons are offered during the school day, as well as before and after
school. The cost of private lessons is regulated by the district:
$15.00 per 1/2 hour lesson once a week. All private teachers have
been screened by the district personnel office and backgrounds thoroughly
checked for your child's safety. Students must pay one month in
advance and make checks payable directly to their
teacher. This is a change in district policy as of November
1st, 2004. Private lessons are not like tutorials. They are for kids that are able to move faster than we are able to go in class. We have found that students who take private lessons have greater mastery of the music and material. They will advance faster, and have a much better chance of making the top orchestra and All Region. One on one instruction is very beneficial and can help students achieve greater goals in orchestra. We strongly encourage ALL orchestra students to take private lessons. The String Society does have scholarship money available to those kids whose financial situation is keeping them from taking private lessons. Click here for our financial aid application form. |
