The
harp is also a part of the string family. It has LOTS of strings, and is
plucked - never played with the bow.
We only allow ONE harp player per year at Ted Polk. You must have at least 3 years of piano experience to play the harp, and you must be willing to take harp lessons from a harp teacher (costs $15 a week). Even though you will be a harp player, you will also have to learn how to play violin, viola, cello or bass as well, because there is not a lot of harp music to play in the middle school. If you're interested in being a harpist, please ask Mrs. Gauthier or Mrs. Boemer at Instrument Night!
