I am in my first full year of teaching. From 2004-2008 I taught as a "project assistant" in a program called String Project at Texas Tech University. I taught beginning strings to 4th and 5th grade students giving them a head start into their junior high school orchestra programs. In the spring semester of 2009, I taught as a long-term substitute orchestra director in the Richardson Independent School District at Pearce High School and at Apollo Jr. High School.
I was born in Kansas City, Missouri and I grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico. I graduated from Texas Tech University in December of 2008 and I am proud to be a "red raider"! I am a huge sports fan and I would go to many of the sporting events while in Lubbock. While growing up, I participated in a wide variety of sports including, football, baseball, tennis, golf, soccer, wrestling, and some others. I started playing the double bass in 6th grade and really enjoyed playing in orchestra, jazz band, and playing bass guitar with my friends. As much as I love sports, I especially love orchestra and have so much fun making music every day!
Mrs. Gemoets and I were married in June 2006. We have three dogs, Walker, Sophie, and Gemini whom we treat like our kids because we do not have any kids yet. My wife also grew up in Las Cruces, New Mexico and we are both really enjoying living in the metroplex in Denton. We are still adapting to big city life, but are very excited and happy to be here.
