When the members of the GIS Club learned their city was currently working on a major erosion control and drainage project along Furneaux Creek, they asked Mr. Charles Neely, the city's Senior Engineering Tech, to be their community partner and assist them with the design of a community enhancement feature for the greenbelt located at the NW corner of Frankford Road and Josey Lane in Carrollton, Texas.
The students decided to design a walking trail in conjunction with the city's plans to connect all of their local greenbelts in this manner, eventually connecting to trails in neighboring cities.
"It's an entire recreation center that can be used by all citizens of Carrollton," said Mr. Neely.
