Dear Parents,
Students and Community Members, I am so excited to join the Freeman family this year. I look forward to meeting each of you and getting to know your children. I would like to begin building a positive relationship by becoming a partner with the school and community. I place high expectations upon myself and expect the same out of students and parents. I am sure you have many questions so let me take a few minutes of your time to allow you to get to know me. I graduated from the University of Nebraska in 1982 with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education. After college I moved to New York City and taught first grade. In 1984 I moved to the Dallas area and taught 4th and 6th grade in Richardson for 5 years. I then moved to Austin for one year and taught 6th grade at Murchison Middle School. In 1990 I moved back to Dallas and continued my teaching career here in Carrollton-Farmers Branch. I taught 5th and 6th grades at Las Colinas and Kent Elementary Schools. In 1997 I received my Masters Degree in Educational Administration from the University of North Texas. For three years I was an Assistant Principal at Davis Elementary. In 2001 I received my first principal position at Thompson Elementary School where I have been the past seven years. I enjoyed my time there and had a wonderful experience. I look forward to this next step in my career leading the Freeman family to great heights. This year will be productive and successful I know. I have met the staff and some students already and am very impressed with the quality of teaching and learning that is taking place here. Ms Smith and I have known each other for 18 years and I will carry on the tradition and high expectations that have already been set by Ms Smith and the staff. Ms Smith and I taught at Las Colinas Elementary together and I also was an assistant principal for her at McCoy Elementary. I will do my best to continue the philosophy established at Freeman. If you have any questions, do not hesitate to call or stop by to see me. Together we will make this school strong and prepare our students for their future endeavors. Sincerely,
