Supplements: Workbooks (Cahier d'activités, Travaux pratiques de grammaire), short story readers, poetry and literature excerpts, internet websites, and other assorted sources
The following provisions are intended to promote a peaceful, orderly and productive classroom environment where each student is valued, appreciated and treated fairly.
PLEASE REMEMBER: I will treat you with respect. I expect you to treat me, each other, school property, and the property of others with respect. I will not tolerate discourteous or insulting language—spoken or written. I will come to class prepared to teach, and I expect you to come to class ready to learn. Bring all required materials and assignments each day. You are responsible for your own learning. You are expected to participate in all class activities in a positive and cooperative manner.
MATERIALS: Large binder with dividers--sections for Notes/Homework, Workbook, Classwork, Quizzes/Tests, Miscellaneous (will be taken up at the end of each grading period for daily grades) lined notebook paper (not torn from a spiral or legal pad- no unlined paper), blue or black pen, no. 2 pencil for classwork, composition notebook for writing assignments
MAKE-UP WORK: For U. I. L. activities, athletics, etc., you must check with me prior to missing class- assignments will be due the day you return to class-in the case of other absences, you have as many days to make up assignments as you were absent (1ab.= 1make up day, 2abs.= 2 make up days, etc.)- late work is not accepted on formative assignments (homework, other daily grades)--check handbook for make-up policies on summative assignments (quizzes, tests, projects)
TUTORIALS: Officially on Thurs. after school, but I am available every day after school (unless I have a meeting or appointment)
GRADE CHECK/PARENT CONNECT: I update grades at 3 weeks, 6 weeks, and 9 weeks. If you check at other times during the nine weeks grading period, the grades will not have been entered. If you are using Parent Connect, please be aware of this information.
EXTRA CREDIT: You may earn up to two extra credit points on each grading period average--check with me if you feel you need extra credit
EXPECTATIONS:
* Be in your assigned seat before the tardy bell rings.
* Always
come prepared for class (book, binder, pens, pencils).
* At the end of
the period, if you are tired of sitting, you may stand by your desk to
stretch.
You are not allowed to line up at the door.
* Bottled water
only is allowed in the classroom. No food except on designated
days.
* No one will use the restroom during the first 15 minutes of class.
* Use the restroom during passing periods, if possible.
* A grade of
0 will be given for cheating or for failure to do make-up work.
* No offensive language will be tolerated.
* Rudeness to anyone, teacher or fellow student, is unacceptable.
