In case of bad
weather, watch any of the major local news stations (ABC, NBC,
CBS) or listen to any local major radio station. They will
specifically list Carrollton-Farmers Branch ISD if there is a
closing or a late start. It will NOT mention McLaughlin or
Strickland Elementary Schools by name.

Parent Connect,
the district's telephone notification system will be used in
case of school closure due to weather, late starts, or early
releases. Please make sure that the office always has
current phone numbers with which to reach you. Thank you!

Students will go
outside for recess UNLESS the temperature is below 32 degrees or
above 100 degrees Fahrenheit. In addition, for student
health and safety, students will not go out if there is a red or
orange ozone alert. Please dress your child
appropriately for outside activities in other circumstances.
