Welcome!

The McLaughlin staff is pleased to expand and welcome our new sister school, Strickland Intermediate! The building should be open and ready for move in at the beginning of August, 2008. We are all anxiously awaiting the big move!

With the change of schools comes a change in school administration. To meet our new principal, Ms. Tracy Smith, go to the staff pages and access her link. We are so happy that our current assistant principal, Mrs. DeDe Lacy, will continue to work with our children. She'll primarily work at Strickland Intermediate, but you'll see her at McLaughlin as well. We will also have a new assistant principal, Mrs. Julie Rodriguez, at McLaughlin Primary. She is coming from Carrollton Elementary, and has been working this summer with our children who were attending summer school! New staff members have been hired at both schools as well, and we think you'll be pleased with the quality additions that have been made. Mrs. Mayfield will open La Villita Elementary, the district's other new school, and Mrs. McLoughlin will be the Assistant Principal at McCoy Elementary. We wish them and the others who are leaving McLaughlin the best of luck in their new adventures.

The website has a newly updated calendar of upcoming events. Major activities for the upcoming year are attached, but watch your child's Tuesday Newsday for confirmation of the dates and times. With prior notice, we hope that you'll be able to support us in our activities during the upcoming year!

A new Spanish version of the website is being tried as well. Let us know if this is meeting your needs.
