My Job |
Counseling:
- Individual-
Meet with students as needed
- Group-
Friendship groups will be formed throughout the year and will last
approximately 8 weeks.
- Guidance- 1-2
times a six weeks I go into classrooms for various lessons pertaining to
character and counseling education. Subjects will include:
Cooperation, Respect, Responsibility, Communication, Pride, Motivation and
other programs such as the WHO Program (Anti-bullying/Anti-abuse) and Drug
Awareness.

Gifted and Talented:
- Screening-
The screening process for GT includes ability and achievement testing, KOI
(activities and observations), portfolios (collection of work samples),
parent inventories, and teacher information.
- ACE lunch-
ACE students meet as a grade level to eat and socialize.

Testing:
- Gifted and Talented-

- District testing-
Kindergarten, 2nd, and 4th grade are screened for ability and achievement
levels. Kindergarten and Non English speaking students are assessed
with the NNAT (Nagaleri Non verbal Ability Test). Both 2nd and 4th
grade take ability and achievement tests. Predominate English
speaking students will take the Otis Lennon Ability Test (OLSAT) and the
Stanford Achievement test. Predominate Spanish speaking students will
take the NNAT and the Aprenda Achievement test. K & 4th are assessed
in October, while 2nd will be assessed in January.

At-Risk Coordinator:
- Student Success
Team- SST meets every six-nine
weeks to review the progress of each student and to determine the steps
needed to ensure each student's success.
- At-Risk- Code
special populations on Sasi; initiate paperwork on special education
referrals.

LPAC:
- LPAC is a committee
that meets several times a year to determine the placement of the
bilingual or ESL (English as a Second Language) students.
