Program Structure
The student will remain enrolled in the district during
program completion. The program can serve a maximum of thirty students at any
given time. The day is split into two sessions, morning (8:00 – 11:15) and
afternoon (12:00 – 3:15). Students may or may not be able to choose which
session they attend, depending on enrollment numbers. Students are required to
participate in an application process and make a commitment to attend 3 hours
per day. If a student does not meet the attendance requirements, they may be
asked to return to their home school program to provide another student the
opportunity to complete the program. This minimum attendance requirement is set
by the state and cannot be altered by the HSEP staff. Curriculum is self paced,
provided online through the Plato High School Equivalency Program. On site
teaching support is provided by a certified teacher and a teaching assistant.
