Students enroll at Mary Grimes Education Center through their home high
school (RL Turner, Newman Smith, Creekview, or Ranchview) by requesting
an application form from their counselor or by printing the

Carrollton-Farmers Branch School District

and 21 years of age
The student
must meet one or more of the following state at-risk criteria:

Once a
student's at-risk status is confirmed, a mandatory pre-admission parent/student
meeting is scheduled for information and testing.
A student
approved for enrollment is scheduled for an orientation date and given
a letter explaining how to withdraw from the home campus. Orientation facilitates
a successful entry for each student through goal setting activities and
familiarization with our expectations and services. During orientation,
students meet with counselors for class schedules tailored to their individual
needs. Students begin classes that day by attending the midday advisory
period with the teacher/advisor who interviewed them.
The
admission and orientation procedures are designed to provide students with
a positive and successful education experience at Mary Grimes Education
Center.
