Dear Las Colinas Family and Friends~

My name is Mrs. Lynch and I'm so excited to be a part of the Las Colinas Family.  I have been teaching at Las Colinas Elementary for 9 years.  I have taught 1st grade and 2nd grade.  One year I looped with my 1st grade class and taught the same group of students in 2nd grade.  Teaching the same group of children for two years was a wonderful experience.  It allowed me the opportunity to really bond with that group of children.  I enjoyed teaching 2nd grade, however, 1st grade is my favorite grade to teach.  My passion is teaching young children how to read.

Growing up with a father that was in the Air Force allowed my family to live in different countries.  We lived in Tokyo, Japan and the Philippines before moving to Texas.  I graduated from Azle High School in 1991.  I was very involved with my school.  I was a Class Officer, a member of the Student Council and Spanish Club, and a cheerleader for 4 years.

After high school I continued with my cheerleading career in college.  I cheered and graduated from the University of North Texas, in Denton.  Even though the teams were not that spectacular, I had a lot of fun cheering them on.  During my junior year we won 3rd place at the National Cheerleaders Association collegiate competition in Dayton Beach, Florida.  It was very exciting...we performed on TV, CBS Sports!

I graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Elementary Education with a specialization in reading.  I did my student teaching internship in Coppell, Texas.  I got my first teaching job at Las Colinas Elementary teaching 2nd grade.  I love it here so much that I continue to come back.

I live in Lewisville with my husband, Gary, our son, Logan, and our two dogs, Molly and Gin.   I have known my husband since elementary school.  We became good friends growing up and then we were high school sweethearts!  We were married on March 27, 1999.  On May 30, 2004, we were blessed with the birth of our son Logan Andrew.  Logan is 2 1/2 years old and attends Primrose School in Lewisville.  He loves reading books, playing with his cars, and dancing.  He is such joy and we appreciate every minute with him.  I hope you can meet him someday.

I look forward to working with you this year.  I know we are going to have a lot of fun!
