HISTORY IT IS A PICTURE OF JOHN
WILKES BOOTH LEAVING THE SCENE.
Abraham Lincoln was our 16th president he was also the first president to get assassinated he was killed in the theater he and his wife went to see a play which Mr. Lincoln liked to see very often to get his mind off of things. While they were sitting watching the play actor John Wilkes Booth came into the president’s box while the guards were sitting down lower than the president and shot the president in the head. Then he escaped from the box by jumping out of the box and breaking his leg he shouted “sic sempe tyrannis” this meaning the south is avenged. He did get away people everywhere shouted get him but it was too late he had escaped. The president was taken across the street to the house of Mr. Peterson. He lay in a bed many people surrounded him the doctors came in and couldn’t stop the bleeding from his head they then said he will only have three hours left to live. They had also found out that the rest of the cabinet was suppose to be assassinated as well but only one plan seemed to work out it that was the presidents. When the northern states heard about this horrible thing they were very upset and many of them cried and felt sorrow. The south had urged up the anger and wanted to fight the north. So then there was going to be war all over again. This event was important because this was the first assassination of a president. :)
