Note: All of the following applications are free to download, but Long does not indorse or provide support for any of there use. We provide this list in order to help students and parents access information found on the Long Website and many Teacher Web Pages. Microsoft Viewers: the following applications allow the user to download and view the PowerPoint, Word and Excel documents but do not allow the user to edit or create.
OpenOffice.org: This application is a free full office software suite package including a word processor, spreadsheet, and presentation application. The word processor will open and save Microsoft Word Documents. Click on the icon to go to Download OpenOffice.org Acrobat Reader: This application allows the user to view Acrobat files (.pdf). Many files on the Long website, teacher websites, and the district website are in the pdf format. Download the latest version by clicking on the icon below.
FlipChart Viewer: this application allows users to view Promethean's Flipchart documents. (Flipcarts are like PowerPoints but they are specifically designed to work with Promethean's Active Boards.) Many teachers in the district are now using Active Boards in there classroom and may begin to post information in this format, however, the application is not widely used.
