Rules and Incentives (Prizes)
Dear Wrangler Readers, Rappers and Rockers,
Did you know music and books are very similar? There are different kinds of music to enjoy and there are different kinds of books to enjoy as well. Ms. Briggs wants to rock out this school year by becoming a strong reader and a smart library user. You will have a chance to rise up the ranks of music and reading stardom by reading from A to Z! It's as easy as can be! Starting Wednesday, October 7, 2009 Sheffield Primary Library’s Fall Reading Program will begin. All you have to do is read books by authors whose last name begins with each letter of the alphabet. For example, if you read Don’t Let the Pigeon Drive the Bus by Mo Willems you would write the title of that book under W, because the author's last name begins with a “W”. You can read any book, magazine article or a chapter of a long book. You can read fiction or non-fiction. You can read by yourself, with a partner or books can be read to you. Books on CD, cassette tape or on the Tumblebooks website do count. Movies and TV shows do not count. You'll get incentives along the way and you don't have to go in order. Logs must be turned in on your grade’s assigned day in order to get incentives the following day if you reached that incentive’s level. The number of books needed to receive your incentive is listed on your log. Those who finish the entire log by Thursday, December 10, 2009 will attend Sheffield’s Red Carpet Party with their family before our Winter Break. So read from A to Z! Do you have any questions? Please contact me at 972-968-3100 or go to our library site and click on the Rap, Rock and Read from A to Z link.
