Legends


  • a tradition or story handed down from earlier times
  • a type of folk tale
  •  a mix of fact and fiction
  • any fictitious tale concerning a real person, event, or place
  • Originally, the term denoted a story about a saint which was read aloud during the services of the early Christian church.
  • A legend is a story that is supposed to be historical, but without proof.
  • Real historical people like King Richard are legends because of the many stories that have been created about them.
  • Legend also refers to anything that inspires lots of stories. The story is handed down from earlier times, but will continue to change with time.
