Citation Machine

When must you cite the sources you used?

        Anytime you use work that you did not produce yourself, you must cite the source used.

        

Helpful Hints

  • If some information is not available, include whatever information is known in the order listed.
  • The second line of a citation is indented 5 spaces.
  • Include author’s middle initial if known.
  • Abbreviate name of months, except May, June, July.

More hints:

  • If several publication cities are given, use the first one listed.
  • If year of publication is not available, substitute latest copyright date.
