Reading Roles

Journaling Roles
|
|
You will read a book of your choice for 20 minutes. Your book will be kept in your SSR teacher’s classroom.
|
You will be given a spiral notebook for SSR purposes only. This too shall be kept in the classroom.
|
|
You may read: non-fiction, fiction or select magazines.
|
You will select from a list of SSR prompts to respond to in your journal.
|
|
NO sleeping, NO Talking, NO working on homework, etc. “Just Read It!” J
|
You will be expected to journal on the prompt for the remainder of the period (about 5 minutes).

Teachers will be reading with the students or reading to the students!

Teachers may interact with the students during journaling time to discuss what the students’ have read.

Teacher can sit with the students as well!
|
Teachers will respond in your SSR journals on a
monthly basis.

Your SSR reading time and your journal will not be graded.
