Library Fund Raisers

Help earn money for the Kent Student Activity Fund.

BOXTOPS FOR EDUCATION

Soooo easy.  Just clip the coupon off of General Mills, Pillsbury, and other products.  (A complete list will be sent home the first weeks of school.)  Put the coupons in an envelope or baggie and send them to school to be placed in the Cheerios box in the front of the school or in the library.  Watch your grocery receipts for special bonus points.

The first year we did this fundraiser we made $250, second year $500 and the third year about $750.  The earnings come in the form of a check to spend in any way the school needs, unlike some programs where you can only get stuff from the list.  This is why we no longer collect Campbell’s.  It just takes too many labels to get a basketball.

We are not asking you to buy anything new or different.  Just check to see if the packaging has the Boxtops label when you get home and snip, snip, snip.  Thanks in advance for your support.

READER’S DIGEST

QSV

Let us first explain that this is magazine sales but NOT door to door.

Kent Elementary made almost $5000 the first year we did this fund raiser, an amount we can hardly turn our noses at based on the financial situation schools find themselves in these days.

Here is the “nutshell” version of how it works.  We explain the program on the Morning Show at school.  The packet goes home.

There are two parts to address.

  • First, there is a booklet of postcards.  Fill out 7 and return them to school and your child will get a prize (monkey, octopus, or something like that.) QSV mails the cards.

  • Second, there are order forms where you may order or renew your subscriptions.  Parents may offer them at work or to neighbors, but under no circumstances should children go door to door.  Within a week, return orders to school.  One subscription gets students a prize like Silly Straw Glasses.  Three subscriptions earn a walking pig or wiener dog for the races.  Seven subscriptions earns a Mr. Gadget Spy set or door alarm.

That is all there is too it, and we are rewarded handsomely.  Your help is greatly appreciated, but this is certainly an optional program.  Thanks in advance for your help.
