It is important for middle school students to learn a formal research model they can use for the rest of their school career and beyond.
6g introduces 4 "elements of research" and 7g emphasizes & expands on 2 of them. These elements are part of the formal Research Cycle model.
By 8g, students are prepared to fully learn & utilize the Big Six Problem-solving Model, a popular & effective formal research model.
