| State and national library standards and research on effective library programs indicate that collaboration with regular classroom teachers is one of the major ways that school librarians impact student achievement. Collaboration involves formal discussion of objectives, methods, roles, activities and student outcomes. | |||
| The current standard for C-FBISD school librarians is to document at least two formal collaboration events per week (left column) during the school year (target = 70) and to send a copy of the evaluation sheets (right column below) to the director for documentation after the unit is over. These sheets provide a basis for collection analysis and collection development, budgeting, and documentation for summative conferences. We know that much more collaboration occurs, but require only two per week. | |||
